Tell us about a deep soul connection that you’ve experienced. The deepest soul connection I have experienced was with my second husband. He was my Pastor before we fell in love and married, he passed away in 1997. I miss that closeness more than I could ever put into words.

Our relationship was something every woman dreams of… We just fit each other in every way. We were so much ‘One’ that we could hardly tell where one left off and the other began. He truly ‘saw’ me from the inside out, and I cherished every detail about him. We both appreciated the intrinsic value that God had placed within each of us. Words seem so shallow to describe the depths of our love and connection… I think the best way to describe our relationship is that we both felt so much peace and freedom with each other that we could truly be who we really were, with no fear! That is huge! To love and be loved with no fear is a connection beyond explanation.

Describe one of the most soul-opening moments of your life. There have been quite a few soul-opening moments in my life. These are always times of inspiration, and a great sense of the Awesomeness when I see glimmers within myself and others. What are these glimmers? I think they are moments of awareness of how very intricate and amazing each person’s potential can reach, even mine.

When do you feel your most soulful? Sometimes when I paint, I feel that I have reached something deep inside myself that is above and beyond me. I feel that I am touching the horse, the water trickling, the ocean roaring, the sky blazing, the colors of the trees, the feel of the bark, the child with lonesome eyes, the mountains glory, the rose’s fragrance, the softness of the kitty, and the puppy; I can smell the sea spray, and the desert bloom, and in the clouds, or in a sunset; many times I touch the face of God.

Where in the world have you felt the most in touch with your own soul? Sometimes during a thunderstorm, or being at the beach and watching the crashing of the surf; there is a special place inside where I feel separated from all the cares and disappointments of my life… I can escape for a period of time, and just bathe in the delight of the moment. It is here that I have felt the most in touch with my own soul.

Who is one of the most soulful people you’ve ever known? In the early 70s, I attended a painting class in Tustin, California. My teacher was so intuitive and could reach into the depths of my soul and pull out the talent that was hidden till then… She had a way of knowing more than just the techniques of painting; she understood the mood I was trying to portray. She could sense the very words I needed from her to instruct me. I hope I can be as insightful as she was, and give that same gift to my art students. She is still the most soulful person I have ever known.

What qualities do you feel a soulful relationship has? First of all, is an interest in getting to know and to understand another person’s thoughts and dreams. We all need a sympathetic witness; someone who will always be looking out for us… I want to be that kind of a friend and lover. Honesty and integrity are qualities that cause a relationship to last and to become deeper and deeper. To be trusted on every level is my aim always in every relationship. If I give my word on even small things, I do everything I can to keep my promise. Without complete trust, there can be no true soulful relationship.

What do you feel your soul’s purpose is? My soul’s purpose has always been to grow, and mature in all the qualities that produce life and joy. I have been blessed with much that I am able to give to others, because much has been given to me. To share my life and my talents with like-minded people is always a joy and gives me much gratification and fulfillment. If I have enhanced in any way the lives of my students and friends, then my life has not been in vain.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with us? I am so grateful for The Soulmate Experience book, and the Daily Inspiration on Facebook. It helps me every day to focus, define, and discipline my thoughts and dreams. Also, I am finding that something is evolving within me of more and more openness and understanding of my own soul. I find myself reaching for more and more of who I really am, AND I am liking me!
