I chose to divorce after 29 years of marriage, and had no clue what a soulmate was until I met my boyfriend Kevin. He and I had the relationship that everyone wants; every day we shared together was as special and magical as the day we met. We shared more love and happiness in our 3 short years together than either one of us had felt in our respective marriages.

He passed away suddenly 1 year ago, and amidst my daily tears, I ask what our purpose was for meeting each other, what was the lesson. I believe it was to learn that true love is nurtured on a daily basis, you don’t have to fight to be heard, you don’t have to always be right; you just have to listen and respect each other for who they are, something I never learned growing up!

We both had the same and very SIMPLE relationship philosophy: EVERYTHING can be talked out! He was an amazing man, and I am forever grateful that God brought us together. He was my soulmate that I wasn’t even looking for…
